Marvel Universe: Skye, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D

I get that it’s “Daisy” now to better match her comic-basis character, but I preferred when she was an all-new character with a more interesting name. Admittedly I kind of tuned out of the show after the great Hydra twist (not that I paid much attention to anything with Ward in it before that either), so I missed parts of the character arc where she reclaimed her Inhuman-descendant identity. Nevertheless, the lovely, lovely Chloe Bennet’s small-sreen character likeness was always in the cards to be made into a custom.

It was quite difficult FINDING a headsculpt, er, pretty enough to represent Chloe Bennet in this scale – -especially since there was pretty much nothing representing her in any OTHER scale (seriously, not even a Funko Pop! figure; only Coulson and May are in that scale). As such, we went the whle first season not having any clear idea of how to make a Skye. At some point we sort of lucked out and got an interesting female headsculpt from Vortious Custom Creations — one we weren’t sure what exactly to do with (I think we forgot what we were supposed to use it for). Ponytail, some fallen bangs, good features, but for whom?

As it happens, Skye’s season two look had those elements as well, so I was finally able to put a custom of her together based on that. Sarted with a recent Marvel Universe female base body and sculpted on quick and simple representations of some of her gear (including those adorable legwarmer things), rounding things out with repurposed parts like a gun belt and a scarf. Paint was also a nice and simple matter — for the body at least, since the covert ops attire was just a darker version of the usual already dark gray-tinged-with-blue for S.H.I.E.L.D field attire. The eyes I’m not too happy with, at least given how they appear in photos.
